Wyoming Trip

Here are pictures from our trip to Thayne and Jackson Wy, Bear Lake and Logan on the way home...enjoy! i know there are tons, but when i finally get a blog book someday, i'm going to want all of these....
this was right behind our little cabin, our windows looked RIGHT into this stream. very pretty:) and a big field was just behind it too, no neighbors or anything behind, just some cows.
this is for you mom! it was really good too!

the water was alright, it was a little chilly, but for a while it was good. then we went to the hot tub...which they had a garden hose running in, and the owners were in the hot tub doing it, so i couldn't very well say "what are you doing?!", so most of the time the hot tub was more like a "hot tote" for you alaskans who know what that is...meaning it was not hot, but luke warm....

i love how her eyes shut and she just enjoys life... me and dan call it her "pure joy" look...

Abby LOVED swimming at the Cabin Creek Inn where we stayed.

Andrew had tons of fun letting dan throw him. he also liked the baby floaty, and i think it was sort of good for him, because he is learning to kick to get places....

this picture above is so typical of abby. she doesn't usually acknowledge kisses, but just lets you kiss her cheeks and pays no attention....and since those cheeks are so kissable, she gets lots of kisses...

mary and her husband b-rad. abby was liking b-rad, she thought that was fun....

andrew was so impressed with her kitchen. he kept saying "thats a neat kitchen mary", and "oh really?" to everything we showed him...

mary has a nice set up here! a REAL mattress, little drawers inside, a nice platform for the tent, and a kitchen with power. not bad!

trying to skip rocks across the river, throwing rocks is one of andrews favorite pastimes....later when we were hiking, andrew was trying to throw rocks into the water, and dan had gone to try and get a picture, and andrew came within inches of dans head...whew! that was a close one...andrew doesn't look where he is throwing them (he is still only 3...), he was just trying his hardest to throw it hard and far....

abby couldn't get very far on these rocks without falling, and she really appreciated a hand...

"i'm not sure that one will skip very far dear..."

this is where mary lives, with the river right in her front yard. i thought it was funny, mary said somebody "reported" her and her friends that live down here at the KOA to their boss, saying "Are you aware there is a hippie colony living down by the river?". haha!

we went to Jackson Hole on Wednesday. we barely got on a white water trip with Mary, which was lots of fun, pictures to come of that... then we walked around and got a few souvenirs. Dan had never been to jackson before. the weather was nice, a little on the hot side, but nice.

andrew is scared of stuffed bears and the like , he will constantly ask me "mom do bears move?" ect, just checking that it is really not going to jump out and grab him, but with this wooden bear, andrew LOVED sitting next to it...no fear of this bear coming to life!

i love the cowboy hats. too bad you can't see abbys little face here....

relaxing at the Cabin...

some people in one of the cabins next to us had a Harley Davidson, and told andrew he could sit on it...

the next pictures are from our hike to Intermittent Springs, it is a spring that stops and starts....it was a very pretty hike in and out. and andrew found a walking stick, he asked if he could keep it and i said sure, and he said "oh really?! thats incredible!"

walking to Intermittent Springs. it was so pretty, and the stream was right beside us the whole way. it was really hot, and i thought to myself, if i was 10 again, i would totally be in that stream clothes and all...when i was young, we would ALWAYS stop to swim on our hikes if there was water...and this one had some GREAT looking swimming holes.

all that dirt and debris was packed on top of snow as you can see. its the end of july! i bet that was one big snowslide or avalanche. you walk over it for the trail....

this is where the spring comes out, it looks like they have made some sort of man made structure in front of it...

check out those cliffs at the very top of this picture above- are they not amazing?!

one of the swimming holes i think would have been GREAT!

andrew making jens hair look "cool"

andrew needed a little bit of a ride on the way back. i felt bad for him, the day we got up to Thayne, we ate pizza, which was great, but i think andrew and abby caught some sort of stomach bug before we left, because andrew was a little sick during our trip, he told me "i feel like garbage", i laughed because i thought where did he learn that phrase? i can't remember ever saying that...and then i put it together. when food is bad or has fallen on the ground in a public place, i tell him that food is now garbage, and not to eat it or he will get sick. so i asked him what garbage was in his tummy, and he said "pizza". now he still seems a little on the queasy side, not wanting much more than toast, waffles, banana's, smoothies, that sort of thing. i made alfredo tonight, and usually its one of his favorites, but he said his stomach feels like "pizza", so "garbage" has evolved to "pizza"...he is sound asleep right now. abby cried it out for a long time, but wasn't going to sleep so i got her back up, gave her some banana, and we'll try again in a little bit...i dont want her to cry so long it wakes him up. its amazing he can go to sleep in the same room as her and do it while she screams....i should have knocked on wood....here is andrew....i better go.

abby fell asleep on the way back from the hike

we stopped in Bear Lake, for a raspberry shake and to play in the water. the kids LOVED the lake, and it was pretty warm, and shallow forever!

we should have just gotten our swim suits out. but it was quite a walk from the parking lot, probably like 1/2 a mile, and i really thought the water would be way too cold to actually swim. i was so wrong...i was wonderful!

this was definitely andrews FAVORITE part of the trip, the lake. i wish we had planned more time for it. we had to leave pretty quickly because we stopped in logan at the cheese factory....

she wasn't sure about the sand. she didnt move unless i was holding her hands...and if she stood in the same spot too long she would start sinking a little into the sand, and she didnt like that either...it was funny.

andrew was splashing us, so we were splashing him back!

I guess I'm right where I belong....

Here are our pics from our trip, it was a lot of fun. We left tues morning, mary and b-rad came to Thayne where were were staying and swam. Wed we went white water rafting with mary and b-rad, walked around jackson, and thurs we hiked intermittent springs, stopped at bear lake, and logans cheese factory. a good time!
