Draper Days

this is one of my all time favorite pictures of andrew. i look at it, and its like THATS MY LITTLE BOY.
i know some of the above pics are in collages, but they are some of my favorites that you didnt get a good look at in a collage...

andrew was really sad not to have a light up sword...but he did come out with a glow stick.

abby was so tired on our way home, it was 11 pm and she stayed awake til we walked back to the car pretty much. this is how she was sleeping...so sweet.

sam and heidi

andrew was having such a good time just running down this hill where we were sitting while waiting for the concert and fireworks to start. it was so hot though, he was dripping with sweat when he was done.
Below are pics from friday. above are pics from yesterday....
she was so tired....it was such an early morning, and late night last night.

above- carter was having jenny hold him because loud noises scare him  (even though he loves the vacuum)
the picture of andrews hand and the policeman's hand is funny because the policeman wanted to give hi 5s, but andrew thought he wanted his candy, so andrew was trying to hand over a piece of candy. it was pretty funny...
andrew is still not thrilled about loud noises...
So yesterday and today are Draper Days. Today i can't say we are doing too much other than the parade this morning (which we got out of the house by 8 and got home at like 11:30 for), and tonight we are going to the concerts at the park, Beatlemania is playing. Dan and i went to see them last year at the sandy amphitheater, and they were SOOOO good. i made me want to listen to the beatles more often! they dress and sound just like them, i think they even travel the world or at least the US performing. the kids right now are getting some MUCH needed rest. we got home last night after 11 (and both kids stayed awake the whole time we were at the movie in the park- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, so they didnt fall asleep til the drive home), and then we got them up at like 7:30 this morning to feed them and get out the door for the parade. we had fun, but abby was soooo tired during the parade, her sad little eyes were trying hard to stay awake, but she was just sitting there either eating candy or holding her ears, or fussing a little, but pretty good for being strapped in the stroller and on little sleep. she fell asleep on the way home, but my vitamix woke her up when i made a smoothie. i just had to have some protein after eating some candy. which i shouldnt have done really, but oh well... onward and upward. dan and i watched America: The Story of Us (dan recorded like 4 episodes on 4th of july from the history channel), and they are really interesting. both times we have watched them i have fell asleep though. which is not because they are boring...but i guess i dont plan the best time to watch them. i NEVER fall asleep watching tv though, so its kind of wierd....maybe because its sort of like reading a book, its not building up to anything like a normal movie, its a documentary. still cool though if you have a chance to see it. things like, i had never thought of the problem that the statue of liberty created when it was given to us, and how they had to raise funds to be able to put it together and place it for all the world to see. and how when the hoover dam was built the company said 96 were killed, but workers claim it was hundreds...yikes. and then about omaha beach, it made me think of my uncle Norman who fought in world war II, he was a great uncle (my grandmothers brother). he wrote a book called Beyond the Bend, i started it but haven't finished it, but it was really really good. he talked about going there with his brother who was killed there, and then later returning. i can just tell Norman was a really really good man. i knew he served several missions when i was little, i think we visited him in oregon when he was serving one of them...but its amazing how reading someone's writing connects you to them, like you feel like you get to know them...anyways, here are some pictures from Draper Days. i shall wait until tomorrow to post, because i know i will have a lot from tonight, and i don't want to spoil it by posting today and having tomorrows post knock this one to the next page...which happens a lot. so enjoy LOTS of pictures:). okay i am back, the concert was fun. andrew got to sit in a firetruck, he has always been too scared, but i assured him they wouldn't turn the sirens on. and since nobody was in it, and it was not running, he trusted me enough to try it out, and when he did he was so excited. it was so hot. i think like 100 today. i was just dripping with sweat...;) before that we were at the gym, i ran 1.5 miles, i did a .5 then did 1. its getting much easier for me to do the .5 mile. now i am not thinking "i can't do this!" for the whole first minute or two. now it doesn't get to that point until after about 1/2 a mile. which is HUGE improvement for me...i was thinking when i was finished my 1 mile stretch, and how sad is this, but it was making me think of how runners feel when they are almost to a finish line of a race. i was determined not to hold onto the hand rails or the front, because it makes it easier. but it was really hard that last 1/10 of a mile...then we went swimming, just dan and i. went down the water slides even! andrew was a bit sad he didnt get to swim, because we had planned on it, and i told him we would, but we ran out of time really, we only swam a few minutes, and its not worth taking the kids for a couple minutes...so i told him we'd get him a special treat, which he was satisfied with. we went to Frogurt (a frozen yogurt self serve place). it was neat how you could just choose your flavor and add how much of each you want, and then whatever toppings, and they just weigh it at the end, and you pay $.35 per ounce. i thought it was a sweet deal. and we had buy 1 get 1 free coupons from the parade this morning. even sweeter deal;) i am exhausted...and i am teaching the lesson for primary tomorrow, so i better get going and get some rest. i am excited about the pics loading right now though, i think i got some REALLY cute ones. we had a great time. BeatleMania is really good, and the fireworks were pretty cool too. well, signing out now. tomorrow my stroller should get here! yay!!!
