Day16

So Owen has made it to 16 days now. I thought I would post a few pictures about him, and what we've been up to. He has been a great baby, usually very calm and asleep... last night he slept great, i think mostly because i held him all night. the rest of his nights he tends to fuss every 5-10 minutes for about an hour or two as we are trying to go to bed, usually after i've taken melatonin so it kills me. last night after about 30 minutes of this, i gave up and just held him in my arm and we both went right to sleep. my mom said he just gets lonely, and i think she is right. he is not used to life on his own, and he seems to take great comfort being held and cuddled. and who can resist a newborn cuddler? Isabella LOVES to try and take care of him, pushing him as high as the swing will go, bouncing the the bouncy chair, shoving his binky in, trying to wrap him, anything really. she has no interest in helping with diapers tho- that grosses her out. haha. she often comes up to him saying "awww cute!" or "its ok, its ok" she is  overall very very sweet to owen. andrew and abby have been still pretty sore, andrew has been up for doing jobs and having some play time with friends, but yesterday he took it easy and seemed a little more sore, we hadn't gotten up in the night to give them meds, and he came in our room about 4:45 pretty sore, saying his ears hurt ( i think the nerves are close? or maybe laying down added pressure?) anyways once he got some motrin then we just watched movies most the day. well they did. the last couple days i finally got some energy back, i got the house cleaned and made bread and cinnamon rolls.  poor owen probably thought we had forgotten about him. i was taking full advantage of the fact that he was so sleepy and the other kids were good watching movies. my house was ready for a deep clean. dan went to the draft thursday at the utah arena. i had plans of watching funny girl with owen but ended up cleaning bathrooms and mopping and polishing furniture. he didn't seem to mind so much that we missed the movie.

i look TERRIBLE here- i know! i had just been spit up on, and i needed to get ready, but it was so sweet how he just sat and looked at me, i had to save the memory.

who can resist smelling a newborn?

i love watching him sleep.

this was yesterday morning, abby had climbed in our bed, followed by bella, who was just laying across everybody. then there was me & owen... too many cooks in the kitchen i say!

poor abby,  this has been her the past week. she has gotten better now about not screaming, so now she is mostly mute but grabs her throat. poor girl.

she's got a smile that heals me:) she can always pick me up if i am having a hard day.

a sleeping baby is perfect to try out different manual settings on. just what i need! someone who won't run off! or can't run off ....

sad face. i think when he wimpers in his sleep, he must be saying goodbye to people he has been associating with. or maybe they are telling him soon he won't be able to see them.

stopped to see dan on our way home from dropping off my mom.

it was a long, sad drive home from the airport. just me and 4 kids. goodbye mom!

slept right through his bath

he LOVES the almanac from costco my mom got him, we found him reading it in the hall at 4 am. he said he couldnt sleep. we couldnt argue with getting up to read an almanac.... haha

planning a sister trip....well to visit my sister anyways. 

yesterday jenny and garry welcomed baby #5! i love how happy garry looks here, poor jenny looks quite drugged.
