Abby is CRAWLING!

poor abby has had several night terrors the past month or so, about when andrew started getting them. luckily none that lasted too long. its just sad.
something else of note- i moved her crib to the lowest setting from the highest one. it was so nice for me to have it up high, when i lay her down and such, but since she was looking like she was going to crawl soon, i thought i better be ready. i just love her bed set if i must say so myself. i was so hesitant about making one, because i didnt want it to look "home made" if you know what i mean, but it turned out better than i could have imagined! i had no problems at all, and i just love it. well, she is a bit stuffy now, and woke up crying, so better get going.
andrew and jen. i think if he wasn't related, he would marry this girl! he loves when she comes to play, today he was SO excited. he usually asks to go to her house or asks where she is every day. right after asking where daddy is. (work. really, i mean every day basically daddy is at work, you'd think andrew would catch on...maybe hes just double checking...)

look at me work so hard to crawl!
haha she does this i think to get a break from crawling..who knows maybe its just fun.

So yesterday Abby did something we have been waiting for, but i had come to think maybe it wasn't really as close as i had thought, and then, bam- the remote control was her motivation. she crawled! and shes been crawling a little more today. which is exciting, because every parent wants to see their children develop normally and learn, but part of me is dreading the next year, she will be mobile. crawling into the kitchen, opening the cabinets, falling on things, possibly eating things from the floor (andrew didn't do that thank goodness! he was way too good for food or crumbs on the floor, if he found crumbs he promptly brought them to me so i could throw them away). its like i have to re baby proof. she is such a sweet heart though, we just have adored abby since she was born. of course we adore andrew, and those of you reading this, know us, and probably think we adore him too much;), what can i say? i guess i have a couple of sweet kids. abby can also now SIT from being on her belly, she did that tonight and i didnt even see it for the first time, i looked over and she was sitting, and i thought "woa- she was just laying down! how did that happen?!" so two big things. she still has the 6 teeth, although her bottom gums on the side of the middle ones are definitely swollen. today we took the kiddos into the doc, andrew had an ear infection, and the dr said the eardrum was really swollen, which i was surprised at because he didnt act like he was in much pain (other than hes had a high fever off and on for a couple days now and said the back of his head hurt (which i though might be the ear, thats why i took him in), but i think his tollerance of pain is pretty high when it comes to that, or maybe motrin and tylenol just work pretty good...he was just fine at the drs today and then as soon as we left, started getting a fever, and it got to 103.6, pretty HIGH, but luckily we were able to get it down fairly quickly and got him some antibiotics. abby is healthy other than a cold, and the dr said her throat is a little red, hence her disinterest in solids the last day or two. but shes a happy girl. she gives BIG hugs and kisses now, its so cute. especially in the morning, when i get her up , she just gives me this big hug and holds it for SEVERAL minutes. its so sweet. just makes your heart melt. she likes to play "pass abby" with auntie jen and me as well.... obviously she loves watching her big brother, and takes interest in whatever he has. when he is near with a toy or something he is showing me, i always have to remind him to play farther away or she will keep trying to take what he's got. Also, when abby cries, sometimes andrew says "abby, do you miss jen?" or when i am not home, he says "abby, do you miss mommy and daddy?" when she cries. i think thats cute... hes trying to relate. today in Kohls, abby's baby shoe fell off, and as we were walking away from the kitchen gadgets, he started just screaming, something about abby, and i couldn't figure out exactly what he was trying to say, so a couple isles down, we stop to try and console him, and finally i figured out he was saying ABBY SHOE FELL OFF, because i noticed her lack of shoe on one foot. THANK YOU ANDREW, i love her baby shoes and would have been very sad to lose one! i thought it was funny how hysterical he got thinking we were leaving her shoe behind. Andrew loves to hear me read my scriptures too, which i think is kind of unusual for a child of 2. he will sit and listen, and talk to me about what we read. he is SO concerned with making Jesus happy, and he asks so often to go to the temple. he loves things relating to Jesus or church, it seems to really just be a big part of him already. today he told me he was 5, like kortney (his cousin turned 5 on dec 1, dan and kortney share a birthday), then jen told andrew Karlee was going to turn 10, and he said "andrew twelve", like well i need to be a couple years older than Karlee...i thought that was funny. he always tells us when he turns 5, he will go to school, and drive the car by himself, and get groceries for mom and dad. too bad he's not 5 huh?! that would be nice sometimes! haha. but i'm going to miss him being little. hes such a sweet boy. and happy. so is abby, i am very blessed to have these two healthy, happy and sweet little kids. i can no longer imagine my life without them. from the moment i was pregnant with andrew, it felt like i had always been a mother. when he was born, i can't remember feeling like it was something very new, it came very naturally for me. it just felt like he was always there. well, thats a little summup of what my kids are up to. oh and abby can chew a little now! i can give her kix, or those gerber crackers that dissolve, and she will actually chomp down with her front teeth. i am so happy because i can trust her a little now with some. she tries to feed herself, and sometimes can, but many are lost on the journey, and that is if she can get her chubby little fingers around them. shes still in between the raking and learning to pinch. but getting better every day. and her hair is really coming in, its sort of too long for headbands, although at times i still try, and too short to put in pony tails really, hopefully soon though, so the best way right now is to put some gel and curl it with my finger... as andrew says "rollercoaster hair". andrew saw The Polar Express yesterday and loved it. it was a BIG TRAIN. he was glued to it. i personally liked the book better than the movie. brings back memories as a child of my mom reading it to me and mary at Christmastime. i can still hear her voice. that book, and When Will It Snow, that was another of mary and my favorites. since me and mary are so close in age (18 mo), we were always doing things together, so naturally, story time at bedtime was always together. well, that should be sufficient for tonight. good night to all! and have a Merry Christmas! Remember who it's all for. never forget the price that was paid for us to choose. and remember, its never too late to accept his open arms, they wait for you. He knows you by name. He suffered every pain, heartache, every burden you do, and he offers healing, peace and hope. You are never alone, you are never forgotten. He is the light and life of the world. I add my testimony that He lives and He is the Redeemer of the world.
