it was so cute, abby found andrews fireman's hat today (he had been wearing his fire fighter jacket and hat and driving his red car pretending to be a fireman yesterday) and went and put it on andrew, and then squatted down to see if it was on him right, it was so sweet, then i showed her SHE could wear it, and she was REALLY excited about that.

(below) andrew had a sleep over with some of his best friends last nigh! jayden and kjersti sure did show him a good time! (haha with a little help from crystal. she's such a good mother. i wasn't worried one bit about leaving my kids with her. )

tonight as i went to check on my babies, who fell fast asleep after a fun night of family at our house, i just almost feel moved to tears as i watch them sleep. i had to take a picture, so you could all see. but you can't imagine what i am feeling. unless you have babies of your own, and then you just might. i love them so much. i would do anything for them, i treasure them more than anything in this world. thats why i wanted to be a stay at home mom, i wanted to savor every minute of their growing up years, because i hear far too often they are shorter than you realize. i think reading back on my blog from when i first found out i was pregnant with andrew brought to my memory the feelings i had, wondering if i would EVER become a mother (it took 12 months to get pregnant with andrew.) those 12 months were some of the most heart breaking months of my life, i have dreamed of being a mother since i can literally remember, its always what i wanted to do. i have always LOVED babies. when i was little (like elementary school), if i saw baby furniture (yes, swings, carseats, you name it) being thrown out on the curb, i would drag them home and add them to my collection. i used to dream and imagine how excited i would be if one of my baby dolls turned into a real baby one day, how i would get it a birth certificate, how it would be able to go to school...i really thought out the logistics of modern day life...haha. but i always dreamed of having children. when my oldest sister audrey had her kids, i was heart broken to live so far away, and thrilled when she moved closer to us, and i LOVED having her kids around. i knew i would love being a mom... and i do. sometimes i forget to see the forest in spite of the trees i guess, but tonight was one of those times when you feel like your eyes are opened a little bit more, and you feel the enormity of the blessing it is to have children who are healthy, safe, and to have a husband and a warm home, and good food and clothes and toys for them. i can't even begin to imagine our luck to have those things in this life , where so many in the world go without. i just want to freeze my babies today, and stop them from growing up. i love how little they still are. andrew still LOVES to sit and cuddle, and he still gets so excited to see a motorcyle, firetruck, race car, monster truck, the IKEA sign because it has A like Andrew, all of those things still completely thrill him. basically EVERYTHING thrills him. someday that will not be the case, and he will grow up. Abby still LOVES to tuck her arms in when she hugs us, and she tries to sing the ABC song but usually the letters are B B B DA DDA P, something like that, but you can tell she is trying to sing her best. and i know they will someday grow up, but i just want them to slow down so i can enjoy them a little more. i guess tonight ends in a very thankful note, for my family and friends, and especially my two little babes sleeping peacefully in their beds.
