St George

The boys playing, carter and andrew. at the playground at the condo where we stayed.

she HATED the sand to touch her feet. she was constantly having me clean her feet and shoes...and avoiding the sand all together.

Hiking to the white sands

matchy matchy

he thought he was pretty big climbing up the rocks!

she was constantly getting sand in her shoes and she couldnt stand that....

come on guys!

she didnt want to hold hands, she is so independent!

she wasn't crazy about the idea, but for some of the steeper parts we made her ride.

this hill was SO STEEP!

Abby was trying her best NOT to touch this perfectly soft sand!

Daddy trying to convince her the sand is nice! not hot at all...

Say Cheese!

watch out!

he was having the time of his life!

please don't put me on that sand daddy!

Finally something she could enjoy! she didnt have to walk around in it, but she did enjoy digging and playing this way...

coming up with jenny

he did SOOO good going up this big hill so many times. it was really hard, and steep but he was soo happy to do it.

We made it to the top! at about 6 months pregnant, i didn't make the trip twice! once was plenty for me.

Who wants a hug!? (and who could say no to her...:)

Goodnight

her new hat, purse and some summer clothes (thank you outlets in st george!)

I LOVE this picture...she is so sweet.

I think the excitement is mutual here....
We just went down to st george for the weekend, it was dans maternal grandparents 65 wedding anniversary. wow! thats a long time! We had such fun. We got down late thursday, friday included playing at the park, shopping for me and heidi while jen and margo watched the kids, a jacobson family picnic at a park designed for much older children... stressed me out when abby was hanging over a 2 story opening by a huge slide. that did it for me. i was DONE. i thought she was going to die.... anyways, then saturday we went the see White Sands, by the volcano in Diamond Valley. the kids LOVED that part. then we came back to the condo and went swimming, the pool was actually warm! then we took the grandparents out to dinner, and andrew spilled his chocolate milk all over, including all over heidi's leg and foot... then i spilled my WHOLE big mug of root beer on my lap...and abby was losing it and trying to throw anything and everything and yell.... it was time for us to go. so i am not sure, but i think they liked the heritage makers book we made them. and then we got up and came home today... so quick trip, but we did have a lot of fun. my favorite was the swimming. it felt so good, the water was warm, the sun was out, the weather was nice! i could do that every day. and the kids did SOO well in their new life jackets, even Abby wanted to swim on her own the whole time. at first i kept holding her hands and helping her, and she kept saying "BE RIGHT BACK!" meaning, leave me alone, i'll be back when i want help! she got a little stuck on her back, but quickly learned to kick her legs and then was going all over! i was so proud. both kids were swimming all over in their life jackets, which are the coolest design. i hope the gym this summer allows them, they really have to i think, since they are coast guard approved... anyways, enjoy the pics of our trip!

Hey, that is the same place I use to go as a child. We went there a lot for Easter Picnics. We even went there after I had my own kids, Aud & Tom at least. I have fond memories of my grandma & grandpa Laub participating in jumping contests down the sand hill! with all the rest from toddler on up. Good, no Great times.
Love you, Mean it, MOM
